Biography
Dr Emmanuel Nzabonimana, PhD, MSc, is an oral-health professional, academic, and researcher at the University of Rwanda's School of Dentistry. His interdisciplinary background combines community and preventive dentistry, health informatics, public health, and digital-health innovation. He holds a PhD focused on oral health in Rwanda and the use of mobile technology for oral-health education, a Master of Science in Health Informatics, a Bachelor of Science in Dental Therapy, and postgraduate training in teaching and learning in higher education. His research interests include community dentistry, oral-health promotion and epidemiology, health-information systems, mobile health, electronic medical records, digital clinical decision support, and health-services research. His work has evaluated oral-health service delivery, oral-health knowledge and practices, and the feasibility and acceptability of a mobile application for oral-health education among adults in Rwanda. As an educator and CARTA graduate, he contributes to teaching, mentorship, research, patient care, and technology-enabled learning. At RDCH, he leads the design and evaluation of context-appropriate digital-health solutions, data systems, and technology-supported public-health interventions.
