Biography
Associate Professor Julienne Murererehe, PhD, MSc, is an academic and multidisciplinary researcher at the University of Rwanda's College of Medicine and Health Sciences, contributing to teaching and research in the Schools of Dentistry and Public Health. She holds a PhD in Community Dentistry from the University of the Witwatersrand, a Master of Science in Health Informatics, and a postgraduate qualification in teaching and learning in higher education. Her research examines the relationship between oral diseases and chronic conditions, particularly HIV, and their effects on health-related quality of life. Her wider interests include community and preventive dentistry, oral-health epidemiology, digital health, research ethics, health informatics, and population-health promotion. A CARTA graduate, she has secured competitive research funding, received international research recognition—including the 2023 IADR Cariology Research Group Travel Award—and contributed to more than 15 peer-reviewed publications. She has supervised undergraduate, master's, and doctoral research and supported institutional research-ethics activities. At RDCH, she provides senior guidance on research ethics, academic quality, oral-health research, mentorship, and capacity strengthening.
